When I was a child all vegetables were frozen in solid rectangular shapes, neatly stacked in the freezer. Imagine my surprise and delight upon discovering the vegetable garden ... a world so intimate, so complete and complex, so constantly changing. I am interested in exploring this "secret life of vegetables" ... the world under the leaves and vines and stems ... and the powerful effort made by these common plants.
